ラップ・スティール・ギタリストの吉村瞳は多作なミュージシャンだ。
アルバム数は8年間で3作品とけして多いとはいえないが、年間100を超えるライヴでは毎回新しい歌を用意し、セットリストも大幅に入れ替えている。新しい歌は少しづつ書き換えられ、より完成度の高い、そしてそのときの彼女の気持ちにフィットしたカタチへと変貌する。
つまり吉村瞳は2000年以降の音楽シーンにあるジャム・バンドのような要素を持ちながらも、1970年代初頭にあったシンガー・ソングライター的でもある。
アルバム『stories』に収録された11曲は、彼女が1年以上もかけてライヴで（歌を）熟成させたものばかり。
それらは、おおよそアルバム3枚分の未発表曲群から厳選した歌たち。地底深くでエネルギーをため込んでいた歌が、今、マグマのように噴き出るチャンスを得た。
「吉村瞳ボルケーノ」から飛び出た火砕流はまだはじまったばかり。本作が、そして次作からもどれだけの人たちを巻き込んでいくのか、楽しみでしかたない。
